In light of the recent school violence in Florida I wanted to reassure you that school safety is Three Rivers Community Schools top priority. The district has a comprehensive school safety plan that addresses a variety of emergency situations, including school violence. We are also required to conduct periodic drills that prepare students and staff for these situations. We have conducted this training in conjunction with the St. Joseph County Office of Emergency Management and our local police force. We have an organized, detailed process to keep our students safe.
I have asked Police Chief Bringham to provide additional police presence at our buildings. This request isn’t related to any specific threat as there have been none to this point. We will continue to work in conjunction with police to ensure the safety of our students.
As parents and guardians please remind your students how important it is to communicate with you and our school administration.
As always, we appreciate your partnership in getting through these times.
Thank you.
Rob Kuhlman
Interim Superintendent
