A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
I hope all of our students are as excited as I am to get back to school! We are dedicating our year to a fantastic curriculum and engaging instruction to create the best-possible learning environment for our students-an environment where students are excited about coming every day! As always, our parents are welcome and we look forward to seeing the many familiar faces, and meeting the new ones!
**One important note, a security buzzer and video camera were installed at the main entrance over the summer. The front doors will be locked during the school day. ALL visitors will need to be “buzzed in” by the office staff. Access will only be granted by an adult in the main office. Doors will not be opened by anyone else in the building. This may be an inconvenience, but the safety of our students is our top concern. I thank you in advance for your understanding as we work through this new procedure.
**Another important note is that on Mondays, school dismisses at 2:29 instead of 3:26 for all students. This is every Monday all year long. Last year, Mondays’ dismissal time was 2:15, so this is a slight change in our schedule! Our Park teaching staff uses this valuable time to review data, curriculum and instruction. We, once again, thank you for working with us in this endeavor of educating all of our youth to the highest levels. Thank you for your support!
As always, parents, we are a team and I look forward to working with each of our Park families this school year. I will see all of our students on Tuesday, September 2, the first day of school and my favorite day of the year!
I look forward to the start of this new and exciting school year!
Sheryl Thorbjornsen, Principal
