With the quick arrival of winter weather, we want to take a moment to outline how we handle inclement weather school closures or delays. The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families are always our top priority when making these decisions. Travel conditions, road access, and the ability to deliver a full, safe school day are carefully assessed.
We understand that school provides essential structure and support for many of our students, so we don’t take these school closures lightly. When weather conditions are severe enough to warrant a closure or delay, we aim to make those decisions as early as possible to help families plan accordingly.
Please know that we are committed to making the best decisions based on the information available, always keeping safety at the forefront.
Here is how closures or delays are communicated:
TRCS website - notifications are posted right away.
Facebook - notifications are posted right away.
TR App - notifications are sent right away
School Messenger - phone, text, and email notifications are sent after posting on the district website, social media, and app. Please check your PowerSchool account to ensure you are signed up for these messages.
Media outlets - we notify local radio and television stations, including WLKM, WMSH, WWMT, WNDU. Check our Facebook and website for quicker updates.
